A Look Back at Beijing from New Zealand

Hi There Everyone!

Well, I’ve been back in New Zealand now since Monday. Was a bit a of a crazy scene out in Beijing. Not sure what the deal was, but my flight was cancelled and rather than coming on Sunday as planned, I ended up arriving in NZ on Monday.

Man I must have slept 12 hours that first night. With all that action in Beijing, I was just zonked out.

But I have to say, Beijing was a blast. It was incredible to experience all of the athletes stepping up to the challenge while the whole world is watching! Many records were broken, many hearts were broken, and being there I was able to experience them at a whole different level. I felt like I was a part of the Games, and at times, almost too involved for being just a spectator. All of the athletes have inspired me tremendously and I really look forward to Vancouver!
And now… I’m getting ready to go do this: http://www.canyonswing.co.nz/jumpstyles.php

Yeah, I know, people tell me I’m crazy all the time, but to them I say: if you’re not just a little crazy, you don’t grow!

I’ll tell you all about my suicide canyon mission.

Talk to you later!

Beijing Olympics: Julia On The Today Show

Julia is everywhere! Not only is she cruising around all over Beijing reporting for her “Julia’s Must List” but she also go pulled aside to shoot a segment on NBC’s “The Today Show.”

For those who don’t live in the USA, The Today Show is a morning show on one of the 3 main channels in which they interview “experts” and chat about all kinds of things. Click on the following link to see Julia’s interview with Al Roker (I used to watch his weather forecast in New York when I was a kid!).

Beijing Olympics: Volleyball and Women's Gymnastics

Today was great!

I went to practice Beach Volleyball with Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor. I was the ball girl/target and I got to spike some and dig for some. It was a lot of fun. I got a little taste of the workout. Its really tough on the whole body! No wonder they look so great in bikinis right!

I got some patriotic stuff signed so I am ready to go route them on to their gold medal! Volleyball is a ton of fun to watch so i am looking forward to that. Its not until the 21st. But I will be there!

Then I went to the women’s gymnastics. It was such a close competition, and seeing us fall a few times live was heartbreaking to the crowd. It was still a great silver medal performance. I just think that the US had every opportunity, because China was messing up too!

I have to say that the new scoring in Gymnastics is very confusing. As a spectator without commentary the whole thing is just so confusing.

And other exciting news: I am going to be on the Today Show on Friday I think. Not sure how it will go down, but will keep you updated!

Bye!
Jules
