My Final Days Off Before the World Cup Zoo!
Hi Everyone!
I am happy to tell all that I survived Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and am now half way through my camp in Chile.

Nicaragua was amazing and beautiful. We stayed at a very cute little eco lodge near Playa Maderas. You could walk right down to the beach where there was a cute little shack with smoothies and local food and we surfed all day long. |
The waves were good, thought the wind was blowing on shore a lot of the time. I got a new surf board before heading down, so it took me a few days to get really used to it. It was my first time on a real shortboard, and I had a crash course in duck diving! It was like doing a thousand dips everyday, I was feeling like I was in pretty good shape by the end of the trip!

I did get eatin alive by the no-see-ums! That was terrible… I think at the peak of the attacks I had about one hundred and fifty bug bites or more everywhere!
Costa Rica was really nice, it is so different than Nicaragua. There is so much more development, but the land is still very beautiful.
We stayed at my friends house in Playa Grande, near Tamarindo and surfed a lot at Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra. I got some of the best waves of my life! There was a guy taking pictures of the break so I will have some sweet shots to put up soon!
All in all it was a fabulous trip! It was really nice to take a little vacation before the season starts. Surfing everyday was really good training and I am feeling super balanced and I am feeling great on snow here in Chile. I have been taking some cool pics here in Chile that I will share with you next time!
For now, here are more pics from Costa Rica. Hope you enjoy those.
Hope everyone is doing well!
bye!
Julia
PS: ohh yeah, and Stephan wanted me to let you know that you’ll be receiving an email from him soon concerning the new membership site we’re building.
It’s going to be pretty cool… I think I already mentioned that I’ve been carrying around a video camera, documenting our lives as World Cup skiers, well that’s one of the things that I want to share with you. Every wonder what the heck the world cup life is really like on the inside, the side that you don’t see portrayed in the media? That’s what this site will provide… more than just blogs and pictures, it will reveal much more. I can’t wait until it’s done and you can check it out.

We had to get through some serious rough terrain, but we finally made it and man, was it worth it!

Wherever you go, there’s beauty and a sense of peace that sometimes lacks in every day life on the tour.
