Julia on George Lopez

What Happened to the Site? And Julia’s Back Home

It’s been a crazy week at Whistler for Jules, her team, her fans, her critics (my god, look at some of the comments in the blog!?!?), and the server…

There has been wild speculation as to why the website was suddenly offline: some asked me whether the USOC shut us down or even the IOC, or whether it was the victim of a cyber attack. None of those things are true. The truth is, the server finally melted down after having completely crushed by the huge flood of traffic. We’re told the website took up more than 40% of the server’s resources (a hosted server that has other customer’s websites on it as well) and they shut us down because of it. We finally moved to a new dedicated server and we should be golden now. Let’s hope it holds up.

Jules has been all over TV right after her Olympics ended on Thursday. From mornings at 4AM to evenings at 9PM, she’s been mad rushing. Right now she’s on her way back to Squaw to rest up before her HUGE PARTY tomorrow night at NORTHSTAR, CA. If you’re anywhere in the area, come by starting around 3 or 4PM in the afternoon. It should be a night to remember.

Here’s Julia on Ellen…

Also, if you’ve been wondering where your Kiss My Tiara Lingerie or Hoodie order is, it will be prepared tomorrow and shipped out on Monday. Thank you for your patience as we got through the Olympic crunch… we should be back up to our regular shipping schedule.

TTYL,

Stephan

Jules Taking It Easy Today and Her Yardsale Was Shut Down

Stoke!

Just a quick update on Julia’s last 24 hours:

  • After the flower ceremony it was all about getting through interviews and then rushing her out to town to do more interviews.
  • Medals ceremony at 7
  • US Ski Team house reception at 8
  • USOC reception and honorable awards for Kazuko and Chris at 8:30
  • A quick pop-over to a party being thrown at a house Jules rented for her team
  • A 9:30 departure home to sleep.
  • This morning, she hooked up some free ski runs with the team, followed by therapy
  • Followed by the after noon off. MUCH DESERVED!

In other news: Jules’ Shop was shut down. Yes, apparently we overlooked IOC Bye-law 3,  Rule 41 which states:

“Except as permitted by the IOC Executive Board, no competitor, coach, trainer or official who participates in the Olympic Games may allow his person, name, picture or sports performances to be used for advertising purposes during the Olympic Games.”

It’s really unfortunate, because of all the excitement about the lingerie and hoodies and not to mention all the advertising going on elsewhere! What’s up with that? Anyway, on March 4th, we’ll have everything back up. Voice your opinion with a comment.

See you tomorrow at the Super G!

Julia Mancuso, the Most Decorated Female American Olympic Alpine Skier with 3 Medals!

This is just an out of control experience. None of us are finding the words to express how we feel about Julia and her breakthrough performances. One thing we can say (and something newspapers will be picking up):

“Julia Mancuso, the Most Decorated Female American Olympic Alpine Skier with 3 Medals!”

What a clutch performer, Julia is. Join me in congratulating her by LEAVING A COMMENT! [Sorry for all the "Error 500" messages. The server can't handle Julia's popularity.]
